Dry film photoresist

Dry film photoresist is a unique material that is used in photolithography. Photolithography is used to create small patterns on things like computer chips and circuit boards. Imagine you have a sticker which you can apply on some surface which is dry photoresist. When it is exposed to light, the places it catches light become hard, and the places it does not remain soft. This allows us to carve deep patterns on very small surfaces.

Step 2 - Peel Off The Backing: Gently peel the backing off the dry film to reveal the adhesive side. Whatever you do, don’t touch the adhesive side with your fingers, they can screw up the pattern.

Expose to Light: Once you have the film on, expose it to a specific light that will harden the areas you wish to keep. The portions that don’t get light will remain soft and can be washed away later.
